One Kind Act are delighted to announce their forthcoming event, Summer Garden Party 9th July 2022:Post Event Update11th July 2022This year's garden party was a summer flirtation that turned into a full romance. Guests ordered cocktails, sipped them, breathed deeply and allowed a swell of giddiness at the beauty of life. Live singing, a limitless bar, a spread of food over 3 courses and a vibe of easy happiness and relaxation made us fall in love with our lives again. And the mood was infectious, with guests pledging, donating, supporting One Kind Act in the mission to spread this love across continents. Our wings are growing.Mona and Raj Bhogal yet again opened their home, their hearts and inspired us with their incredible generosity - personally covering all costs so that over £70,000 raised would go towards dialysis for the poor in Kenya and towards financing an entire school with clean toilets and the latest technology in Goa.We get a much better result with joy if, instead of trying to get the world to make us feel good, we actually concentrate on making the world feel good. Afghanistan Refugees in UK Appeal
26 Aug 2021 - 29 Nov 2021
One Kind Act announce their Afghan Refugees in UK Appeal: After more than twenty years of conflict and attempts at nation building, the US and allied forces are in the end game of withdrawing from Afghanistan. The speedy retreat has resulted in regime change and the unintended consequences of continued suffering for civilians. Fear and desperation is seen in the media and like on so many occasions around the world, it is women, children and the ordinary citizens who bear the brunt.United Kingdom is trying to take in as many Afghan refugees as possible, as they have always done in the past from other conflict areas. Those arriving will most likely be young and vulnerable. They may have limited resources or family connections to support them. Food, shelter and clothing will be the basic immediate needs. One Kind Act will extend its hand of friendship to those in most need, working with our credible charity partners. Any of our supporters who wish to help us to help these unfortunate people, please donate to OKA as your act of kindness.About One Kind ActOne Kind Act Changes Communities and lives of others globally who suffer as a result of Poverty of Health, Nutrition and Education and may have Fallen Through The Net of the larger charities. Royal Parks Half Marathon 2021
13 Jun 2021 - 30 Oct 2021
One Kind Act are proud present another new runner, Elliott Lyons, for our forthcoming event – LONDON LANDMARKS HALF MARATHON (LLHM 2021) - to be held on Sunday 1 August 2021. He will also be running in THE ROYAL PARKS HALF MARATHON being held in October 2021. The LLHM usually celebrates London’s grand iconic landmarks, its quirky and hidden history and gems. However, following the global Covid-19 pandemic, LLHM 2021 will be re-themed to celebrate the grand, quirky and hidden landmark moments of 2020, shining a light on how we have come together as a nation during this unprecedented time. One Kind Act are grateful to Elliott to have signed up to these two Marathon events to raise funds which can be used to help the destitute here in the UK and all around the world. Here is what Elliott Lyons has to say..........'It’s been a crazy 15 months for everyone, and I consider myself one of the lucky ones! I am still in employment, I am fortunate not to have suffered from COVID issues, my family are happy and healthy. But this isn’t the case for many others both here in the UK and overseas. So I wanted to pay it forward and support where I can. Therefore, I am running two half marathons (London Landmarks and Royal Parks) between now and the end of the year to raise money for One Kind Act. A fantastic charity that raises money to support those smaller charitable organisations that are often overlooked. One Kind Act became even closer to my heart when I lost my oldest and best friend to COVID related illness earlier this year. Aleem was an avid supporter and contributor to One Kind Act and, more than anything, I wanted to do these half marathons in his memory and support the charity that was so close to his heart. So I am reaching out to everyone to support by sponsoring me and helping me raise a significant amount that can support others who are less fortunate but also in memory of my friend, Aleem. Please support me by clicking the link below and donating what you can - every penny counts, and I can assure you your money will be put to good use.Thank you!'This charity run is a closed road, central London run and is the only half marathon to go through both the City of London and City of Westminster. Well-thought out, flexible and responsive measures will be in place to ensure that LLHM 2021 will be a Covid-secure event, where the safety of the LLHM community comes first.
