One Kind Act are proud to announce our new Appeal 'Solar Power for Nepal Flood Victims'     

On 26 August 2026, devastating flash floods swept through Nepal’s Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts, destroying homes, roads, bridges and critical infrastructure and leaving mountain communities facing an immense humanitarian challenge.

Among the infrastructure badly affected are hydropower facilities and electricity networks that many remote villages depend upon. In these high-altitude areas, damaged roads and river crossings could make restoring conventional power supplies difficult and slow. Yet electricity is needed immediately.

Medical posts treating survivors need reliable power for lighting, refrigeration of medicines and essential equipment. Search-and-rescue and relief teams need electricity to charge radios, phones and communications equipment. Displaced families need basic lighting and power as they begin the long process of rebuilding their homes and communities.

For villages that may remain disconnected from the grid for weeks or months, solar power offers a practical and rapidly deployable solution. Solar panels and supporting equipment can be transported into remote areas without the continuing fuel requirements of generators, providing communities with an independent source of essential electricity while permanent infrastructure is restored.

What We Are Raising Funds For!

One Kind Act is raising funds in the UK to help source, purchase and deploy solar power systems for flood-affected communities and relief points in Rasuwa and Nuwakot.

Funds raised will be directed towards solar panels and the associated equipment needed to create practical local power installations where electricity is urgently required — including at medical posts, relief centres and affected villages.

Alongside the solar initiative, essential relief supplies are also being collected. These will be transported to affected communities in coordination with the relevant authorities and through Nepal’s official relief-distribution mechanisms.

Our aim is simple: to restore light, communications and essential power to communities rebuilding their lives after the floods.
