One Kind Act are proud to announce The HSBC SME BB South East Nepal Fundraiser :
The SME BB South East region is coming together to support
Nepal Flood Relief following the devastating floods on 26 August 2026.
This cause is especially close to home for our colleague Bishal, who is from Nepal and has family and friends affected there. Thankfully his mother is safe in Kathmandu but his uncle was in the region just a few days before.
Throughout September, we’ll aim to collectively travel 7,350 km, the equivalent distance from London to Nepal, by walking, running, cycling, or hiking.
The flash floods swept through Nepal’s Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts, destroying
homes, roads, bridges and critical infrastructure and leaving mountain
communities facing an immense humanitarian challenge.
Among the infrastructure badly affected are hydropower facilities and
electricity networks that many remote villages depend upon. In these
high-altitude areas, damaged roads and river crossings could make restoring
conventional power supplies difficult and slow. Yet electricity is needed
immediately.
Medical posts treating survivors need reliable power for lighting,
refrigeration of medicines and essential equipment. Search-and-rescue and
relief teams need electricity to charge radios, phones and communications
equipment. Displaced families need basic lighting and power as they begin the
long process of rebuilding their homes and communities.
Many people are still missing, with relatives desperate to hear some
news.
We will be raising funds for One Kind Act’s Solar Power campaign.
Please do cheer us on as we embark on this challenge through September.
Donations will also be eligible for HSBC’s £4£ matching scheme, helping every contribution go further.
