To Date We have distributed over £1m to Yuva Unstoppable through Donations on this page and on our Bright Start Programs

We have partnered up with YUVA Unstoppable because of their amazing response to the Covid-19 crisis in India and for their invaluable initiative in Renovation of Government Schools in India.

RENOVATION OF GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS IN INDIA

YUVA Unstoppable has a Vision……. to transform 10,000 schools in India! They see it happening through two avenues; better sanitation and digital education.

Sadly, of the 1.3 million government schools in India, 72% of these schools have some form of toilet facilities for girls but almost 85% of them are non-functional, lack privacy and security for girls.

Likewise, government schools in around 60% of rural areas have not been connected digitally in India.

YUVA Unstoppable is India’s premier youth movement which believes everyone has a right to better sanitation and technology. To date, their efforts have benefited over 5, 00,000 underprivileged children across 40 cities of India and they intend to continue until the mission accomplished.

To date, through their Renovation of Government Schools Programme in India, Yuva Unstoppable has benefited over 3000 schools and almost 1.5m underprivileged students across 41 cities within India. They work with more than 100 top corporate companies (HDFC Bank, 3M, IBM, Google, SGS, UNICEF, United Way and many others) to transform government schools in India. The work majorly includes upgraded toilets and sanitization, improved drinking water facilities, scholarships, digital literacy and capacity building.

PROJECT INTERCONNECT

Yuva have now launched Project Interconnect. This aims to support the higher secondary and college education of meritorious students (who have secured more than 90% in their 10th - SSC/12th – HSC exams) who come from economically challenged families like Daily Wage Labourers, Auto Rickshaw Drivers, Tailors, Maids, etc.

Yuva has secured 2000+ Engineer, Doctor, CA and other professions Scholarships from reputed colleges and universities in India for these students from financially weaker section of the society.

Going forward, the objective now is to secure the digital education support required for these underprivileged students by providing them a Tablet PC with internet connectivity to aid their online learning and classes. The following Tablet has been secured - Lenovo M7 Tablet (1.3GHz Processor, 7” screen, 2GB RAM, 16GB Storage & 2MP Rear & Front Camera, at a favourable cost of £100 per Tablet.

The total number of identified beneficiaries at present is 4500 Students

YUVA has set its goal to raise £45,000 to support these teenagers to gain the quality of education they deserve.

OKA are very clear that we wish to support them as best we can in this new initiative. Please help us to support this worthy cause that will help teenagers of working class backgrounds in India to fulfil their full potential and dreams by pledging any amount in multiples of £100 to purchase the much-needed Tablets they require.

COVID-19 RELIEF RESPONSE

Millions of people in India have a hand-to-mouth existence. Fast response measures put in place to curb the spread of COVID-19 pandemic have made life even more difficult for them.

To combat this, YUVA Unstoppable started working on two elements during the lockdown for the marginalized communities and frontline warriors. The first is health element and the other is socio-economic impact of the lockdown.

To cope up with this extraordinary pandemic, YUVA Unstoppable distributed 50,000+ Health and Hygiene Kits to Police, Food & Ration to 100,000+ and 5000+ PPE Kits to Doctors and Paramedical Staff across India.

COVID-19 VACCINE PROGRAMME

Yuva Unstoppable have launched a new project to remove Covid Vaccine hesitancy in India.

There are many reasons why the needy in India aren’t taking vaccines…..an obvious one being they will miss two days of work due to fever which they simply cannot afford to do! Such a sad irony.

Yuva ran an innovative pilot scheme (commended by the government) in 3 villages by offering a free 1 litre of cooking oil in exchange of having their first jab. The take-up scaled from 19% to 100% in as little as 7 days!

Hence, Yuva is signed up to helping as much as 2 million such destitute people. They have raised support for half a million people so far but they still have a very long way to go.

It costs just under £2 per person to entice people onto the Vaccine programme.
